This lecture, presented by Mr Rob Purbrick, will present a series of OCT case studies which will explore some common and uncommon retinal conditions. The cases will be presented and after each case delegates will be asked to consider their proposed diagnosis and management options before Mr Purbrick discusses his diagnosis and management recommendations.

(s.10) Practitioners will have a better understanding of up to date referral timescales for macular problems and the modern treatment options available for these patients within secondary care.

(s.5) Practitioners will understand that the use of an OCT in practice can be in the patients best interests as it can aid a more appropriate patient referral for treatment.

(s.6) Practitioners will recognise patient symptoms that may require further investigations with an OCT and they will have a better understanding of the implications of not dealing with this in an appropriate manner.

About The Speaker

Mr Rob Purbrick is an ophthalmologist and NHS Consultant at Sussex Eye Hospital in Brighton, and is also the clinical lead for the diabetic screening programme.
